So you start treading carefully, avoiding the lifting, the loading, the things that might jar you. But sitting still is exactly what weakens bone further, and the fear of a fracture can shrink your life more than the condition itself.
- You've been told you have osteopenia or osteoporosis and you're not sure what you're allowed to do.
- You're scared that a wrong move or a fall will mean a fracture.
- You've started avoiding the activities you love in case you hurt yourself.
- You've been told to be careful, but no one's actually shown you how to get stronger.
- You're on medication for it, and you know that's only part of the picture.
- Your posture's changing, or you've lost a little height, and it worries you.
For decades, people with osteoporosis were told to take it easy. The opposite is true. Bone responds to load the same way muscle does: challenge it safely and progressively, and it adapts and gets denser. The right strength training doesn't just slow the decline, it can improve your bone density.
- Progressive resistance and weight-bearing training is the most proven way to maintain and build bone density.
- Strong muscles and good balance are what stop a stumble from becoming a fracture.
- High-quality research shows supervised, progressive strength training is both safe and effective for people with low bone mass.
- Every year you stay sedentary, bone and muscle quietly decline. Training reverses the trend.
- Medication slows bone loss, but loading your bones is what builds the strength and balance around them.
Whatever your scan said, it's not too late to get stronger.

How it works
Three steps to stronger bones
No guesswork and no being told to just be careful. Starting is simple, and you'll know exactly what happens next.
Step 1: Book your assessment
A physio-led session to understand your bone density, your balance, your history and your goals, and to map the plan that safely builds your bones and strength.
Step 2: Start your 12 weeks
One 45-minute 1:1 physio-led session and two small-group strength sessions a week, plus a dietitian check-in every few weeks, all progressed safely around you.
Step 3: Keep the results
Progress week on week, then roll into ongoing membership at the same rate, so the bone, strength and balance you build keep you strong for years to come.

Answers to common questions about training safely, building bone and getting started with osteoporosis.
-
It is when it's physio-led, and that's the whole point. We assess your bones, your balance and any old injuries first, then load you safely and progressively. Supervised strength training is one of the most effective things you can do for low bone density.
-
That advice is out of date. We now know bone responds to load: challenge it safely and it gets stronger, while avoiding activity lets it keep declining. The key word is safely, which is exactly what a physio-led program gives you.
-
High-quality research on supervised, progressive strength and impact training shows it can improve bone density, not just slow the decline. How much depends on where you're starting and how consistently you train, and we build your program around that.
-
No. We don't prescribe or supply any medication. That stays between you and your doctor. What we do is the strength, balance and nutrition side that builds your bones and protects you from falls while you're being managed medically.
-
Yes. Balance and fall-prevention work is built into every session, because strong muscles and steady balance are what stop a stumble from becoming a fracture. For a lot of our members, this is the part that gives them their confidence back.
-
Yes. Most people we work with are starting again, not carrying on. Your assessment meets you where you are, and everything builds from there at a pace that suits you.
-
Our dietitian makes sure you're getting enough protein, calcium and overall nutrition to support your bones and your training. It works alongside, not instead of, any advice from your doctor.
-
No referral needed. You can book your assessment directly. If you have a scan result, a plan or a referral from your GP or specialist, bring it along and we'll factor it in.
-
It's $150 a week for the 12-week block, down from $230. There's no lock-in beyond the 12 weeks, and you can roll into ongoing membership at the same rate if you want to keep building.
