Do Australians eat enough fruits and vegetables, and move enough?

If you’re like most Australians, you might not be getting enough fruits, vegetables or movement.

Diet and nutrition

  • 36% and 96% of children and adolescents aged 2–17 did not meet the recommended daily serves of fruit and vegetables, respectively.
  • 56% of adults did not meet the recommended 2 serves of fruit daily.
  • 94% of adults did not meet the recommended 5 serves of vegetables daily.

Physical activity and exercise

  • 83% of adolescents aged 15–17 did not meet the physical activity guideline.
  • 37% of adults aged 18–64 did not meet the physical activity guideline.
  • 57% of adults aged 65+ did not meet the physical activity guideline.

Could you add one extra serve of vegetables to dinner tonight? Or could you walk for an extra 10 minutes tomorrow?

Small steps like these add up over time!
